Alia Bhatt and Sanjay Leela Bhansali celebrate 1 year of Gangubai Kathiawadi

To mark the release of her hit film Gangubai Kathiawadi one year ago, Alia Bhatt posted a photo to Instagram. Sanjay Leela Bhansali and the actress are seen twinned in white in a photo that the actress uploaded. She wrote "One year of our Gangu" as the post's caption.

While the two are wearing white clothing, she also added the movie's line as a hashtag, "Gangu wala safed." The two were congratulated by fans in the comment section.

The title part of the movie was portrayed by Bhatt. The life of Mumbai's Kamathipura sex worker Gangubai, who was forced into prostitution at a young age, served as the inspiration for the film. Her ascent to prominence in Kamathipura is chronicled in the movie.

About her professional career, Bhatt will make her Hollywood debut in Gal Gadot's spy thriller Heart of Stone. She will then appear next with Ranveer Singh in Karan Johar's romance comedy Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani. Along with Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif, she is a part of the Farhan Akhtar-produced film Jee Le Zara.
